Metalworking Machinery & Equipment Appraisal Services

Metalworking equipment requires specialized knowledge to appraise accurately because value is heavily influenced by condition, age, usage, precision capability, control systems, software support, tooling, and plant setup. At U.S. Asset Appraisals, we understand the complexity of CNC machines, lathes, mills, press brakes, welders, plasma cutters, saws, tool rooms, inspection systems, automation, and custom fabrication equipment. Our certified appraisers combine real market data, industry insight, and condition-based analysis to determine accurate Fair Market, Orderly Liquidation, or Forced Liquidation value—depending on your purpose. Whether the appraisal is needed for SBA lending, bank financing, buy/sell agreement, litigation, or asset management, we provide USPAP-compliant reports that are clear, detailed, and defensible.

Manufacturers, machine shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial businesses choose U.S. Asset Appraisals because our reports are designed to withstand lender scrutiny, legal review, audits, and insurance validation. We don’t rely on generic depreciation tables—instead, we evaluate your specific equipment, including upgrades, tooling packages, production capacity, and demand in the secondary market. Our appraisers are certified and experienced in valuing equipment used in precision machining, metal fabrication, tool & die, automotive component manufacturing, aerospace, and industrial production. When accuracy, compliance, and credibility matter, our reports deliver trusted results.

FAQs

  • Our team has over 15 years of appraising and selling metalworking machinery and equipment.

  • Yes. Our appraisers are all CMEA certified which is one of the four certifications approved by the SBA.

  • This is always a tough question because every company is different in size. Typcially appraisals for metalworking machinery and equipment start around $2,500 for a smaller shop and can run over $25,000 for larger shops with several locations. If you would like a hassle free proposal feel free to email us an asset list at appraise@usassetappraisals.com. We will email you a proposal within 2 hours.

  • We use the cost approach and the market approach. Using the Cost Approach, the appraiser starts with the current Replacement Cost New (or in some circumstances the Reproduction Cost New) of the property being appraised and then deducts for the loss in value caused by physical deterioration, functional obsolescence, and economic obsolescence. The market approach is a method of determining the value of an asset based on the selling price of similar assets. Both approaches should be used to find an accurate value. At times we will discuss our numbers with others who buy, sell, and work in the industry to confirm our results.
